General Education Office aspires to establish and coordinate an excellent General Education Curriculum and provide leadership for the ongoing development of General Education at the University.
General Education Office is committed to planning, implementing and evaluating the two signature courses which are mandatory for all students in the new 3-3-4/5 cohort, namely, the General Education Foundation Course and the General Education Consolidation Course. General Education Office is also committed to working closely with all faculties, academic programmes and departments to provide a diverse range of high-quality Breadth Courses in General Education. All of these courses are intended to:
- Stimulate students' reflections on matters of importance to them;
- Enable students to achieve an understanding of the world which transcends the boundaries of disciplinary knowledge;
- Prepare students to respond actively and critically to socio-cultural traditions, trends and changes;
- Stimulate students' reflection on the significance of living in an increasingly digital and globalized world
